Volunteers required for anti-trapping operations on Cyprus

The MBCC is looking for volunteers for the period 20 Sep to 20 Oct 2011.

Anti-poaching volunteer with the international monitoring organisation Migratory Birds Conservation in Cyprus (MBCC) for the period 20 Sep to 20 Oct 2011. Locating and removal illegal limesticks, nets and electronic lures in cooperation with the Cyprus authorities.

All expenses (flight, bed, food, transport) will be met. Sex, nationality and age are of no importance (but there are difficulties in getting visas for non-EU citizens); but participants should be prepared and fit for a full day in the field. An interest in bird conservation is essential but bird recognition is of secondary importance. The camp organiser, Ms. Loosli from Switzerland, speaks excellent English (which is useful but not essential on Cyprus) and of course German.

Anyone interested should contact me as soon as possible, with a short summary of personal information and experience.

TIA
