Ornis Fennica content 1924-2010 now freely available

Ornis Fennica has printed more than 1,600 scientific papers since 1924. Now
these papers are freely accessible and downloadable at Ornis Fennica web
page.

This republishing of old papers significantly improves chances for anyone
interested in avian studies to utilize this rich source of information. The
over 1,600 papers are scientifically invaluable, but they are also
culturally and historically extremely important.

The early papers were mostly in Finnish, Swedish and German, whereas English
has been the main publishing language since mid-1980s.

Ornis Fennica is a peer reviewed ornithological journal, published by the
Finnish Ornithological Society (Suomen Lintutieteellinen Yhdistys) until
2004 and since then by BirdLife Finland.

You can now browse the whole content of Ornis Fennica by using author
name(s) or key words from the title, Abstract or article text. The papers
can be found at www.ornisfennica.org

The publisher, BirdLife Finland, and the editorial board of Ornis Fennica
